Best Curly Hair Products

Good Products for Curly HairWhether you’re an experienced product junkie or you’re new to the natural scene, you probably want to know what the best curly hair products are.  The type of products that you use will depend on what you’re trying to accomplish.

We all know that curly hair needs moisture, and the best moisture enriching products are those that contain water as the first ingredient and then an oil or a butter to lock the water in.  If you use an oil, such as olive oil, almond oil or avocado oil, or a butter such as mango or shea in you hair, you should  always apply it to damp hair.  4c natural curly hair products

A really nice sealant you can try is the Pura Body Naturals Cupuacu Hair Butter, which contains Cupuacu, murumuru, illipe, mango and Shea butters as well as many different types of oils. The Amla & Olive Heavy Cream, which lists castor oil, olive oil, distilled water and alma in its ingredients is whipped and resembles  a butter, but doesn’t contain them, which might be better for those who feel like butters are too heavy for their hair.

There are also curl defining products.  These products work best when applied in small amounts before applying leave-in conditioner.  Kinky-Curly Curling Custard has in it aloe vera juice, marshmallow root and agave nectar extract, all very nourishing and great for your hair.  Miss Jessies’s Quick Curls is a light cream, best used for 3B or 3C hair.  This product has grape seed, nettle, fennel fruit, betula alba leaf and chestnut, all in extract form, among other botanical extracts.  Water is its first ingredients and it doesn’t contain silicone’s, sulfates, parabens or glycerin.

There are so many wonderful products for curly hair.  There are so many shampoos, conditioners, leave-in conditioners, detanglers, protein treatments and serums to try out.  The best curly hair products are those that won’t dry out your hair, have ingredients that you can pronounce and, most importantly, those that work well for you.

In order to see your natural curls, you will need to stop manipulating the texture with chemicals. I suggest you stop using the perm. Good luck!
