I’m tihnking about wearing my hair natural but don’t want to cut off my relaxed hair, just grow it out natural without any chemicals…possible? I notice how many cut off the relaxed hair down to the new growth, any ideas?

From rexlaed to natural. 1- No braids. Braids will break off the already weakened hair from the perm. Braids cause break off of new growth, from, pulling stress, and if extensions, weight. 2-Break out of our usual hair stores. Mall stores for hair products are catching on, and are making great products, JOICO, in a light brown bottle, makes sham, cond, serums to restore rexlaed/processed hair. Using these items, you can move into natural comfortably, as your new growth hair will improve. Increases curly/waviness/softness instead of kinky/dry/nappy. Hope this helps! Need more advice send me a message! Glad to help!

To start, Hair weaves and wigs, are as sick to me as plastic surgery. I don’t see them as a “hair style” or changing your “natural hair”.However, not many people, in all races, wear their hair natural. Hair Coloring, Curling Iron, Braiding, Straighting Perms, Curling Perms, Straightning Iron, Hair Gel (for spikes) etc …. are ALL changing your hair from it’s natural format. Why is it “specially” wrong for black people to change their natural hair?

Hello, I’ve been natural for 10months so far…. my hair was a short style prior to me going natural. I got married in March and during that time I receive a half perm right before the wedding in the front and middle of my hair. After getting back from my honeymoon I receive breakage in the area to were I receive the perm. Due to my hair being so short I had to get micro braids and wear them for about 5months. My hair has receive much growth. But to my question: Should I try cutting my hair to were the short part of my hair is or continue to let my hair grow out and try and cut it once the short hair gets to a certain length?

What is the best way to determine my hair type???… Is it in it’s dry or wet state. I would so love if my hair would keep it’s wet curl look as I wash it versus when it air drys and shrinks.

I have been trying this natural thing for about 2yrs now. I don’t know my hair type or the type of products to use . My hair was very damaged from the relaxer and heat. My hair does not hold moisture and it breaks very easily. Can you please help me?

I am in the same boat as you. I have actually made a hair appointment for next Wednesday but am debating on whether or not I’m going to allow the dresser to put in a relaxer to try to have to care for my natural hair.

I am thinking about going natural, and have been for some time now. I am going through this self discovery stage in my life and want to embrace my natural hair. My only dilemma is my husband. I am recently married 3/27/13 Yayy!!!., and my last relaxer was before my wedding 3/24/13. I do not want anymore relaxers, but at the same time I do care what my husband thinks. I don’t want him to loose attractiveness of me with short hair. He says he supports me, but I still have a feeling of reserve because I’m not sure if he will totally be on board. I’m so confused, any words of advice would be Greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance :)
