How did you get to where you are today?
Well I decided to go natural after years of chemical relaxers. I am into my second month and I am still using heat to do my hair…I have some new growth but not a lot…its very hard for me to come up with any styles…I have a mixture of hate because of my heritage…I am racially mixed..African American, White American, and Native American…my hair length is at my shoulders….so any advice that is offered is appreciated..I would love to get my hair twisted but its still too straight…like I said any advice would be helpful thank you…
What is your current regimen?
Shampoo, and conditioning and leave in conditioning, also oil sheen or a oil moisturizer….I blow dry and curl my hair and then i do a wrap….
What is your signature natural hairstyle?
Straight down parted on the side…basically straight….
What is the best tip you have learned throughout your hair journey?
I try to trim my hair every two to three washes..which has helped grow a lot..but i still have a lot of split ends…
What are your favorite product(s)? and Why?
Hawaiian Silk products, Dr. miracle leave in conditioner treatment…and Pantene…and Olive Oil Hair Sheen…the shampoos conditioned my hair and leaves a nice sheen on it…and also any breakage i have the leave in conditioner is excellent…also Pantene I have been using for years…and the oil sheen does not make my hair heavy….easy to style….

Hi Courtney,
I’m going through the same problem lol. But i’v watched a lot of videos on youtube and also read a little on natural hair maintenance and transitioning.
Well the first thing you need to either wear wigs, braids to prevent breakage through constant handling as that can lead to breakage. It was also suggested that knot-outs or twist-outs will also serve as an idea as to what you will look like with natural hair.
Conditioning and moisturizing are key too.
Hope this has been of help!
