Sometimes, our little girls want to take control of their hair styling. Or, if you’re the one doing the styling, it’s nice to have tools that are made especially for kids. Also, I know plenty of moms who have daughters whose hair have really started to grow and these poor moms are at all loss as to what to do. Here is a list of natural hair tools for kids and adults that should make life a lot easier for you both!
First, you need something to detangle the child’s hair. This can be done with a wide tooth comb or a Denman brush. There is also a neat tool called a Tangle Teezer that I haven’t tried, but looks promising. It also looks like something a child might enjoy using, with it’s bright colors and handle-less body.
Next, you’ll need a shower cap for those deep conditioning days. A hooded dryer or a blow dryer set on low it really useful for hot oil treatments, which I recommend doing once every two months or so, even on little kids.
An applicator bottle is really useful for shampooing, conditioning and oiling. Applicator bottles cut down on the mess and will allow you to waste less product. This is especially true if the child herself if doing the shampooing or oiling. Spray bottles are also very helpful.
Goody Ouchless bands are great for puffs and other styles. Please, be sure not to make your child’s styles too tight! Bobby pins, bows, hair ties, butterfly clips, beads and scrunchies are all great to have on hand. Other styling tools include Curl Formers, Flexi Rods and magnetic rollers.
For the occasional trim, a good pair of shears is recommended. Make sure that that they are a really good pair, though. Sadly, a bad pair of scissors can ruin a beautiful head of hair.
Lastly, it’s a good idea to train girls from an early age to sleep in a protective satin scarf or bonnet. A satin pillow is a great alternative to a scarf, especially if your little one constantly pulls her scarf off.
These are natural hair tools for kids that will hopefully take out the guesswork when wondering what on earth to do with your daughter’s hair.
